The engine's connecting rod durability has also been enhanced for use with higher torque settings with the manual transmission, along with a strengthened clutch cover and dual mass flywheel. The high capacity 6-speed manual used in the JUKE NISMO RS is a different transmission than available in the JUKE NISMO manual transmission model and uses an optimized gear set and a shorter final drive ratio (4.428:1 NISMO RS, 3.933:1 NISMO) for quicker acceleration.
Vehicles with high power ratings using conventional front or rear drive systems often employ a limited-slip differential to help maintain traction when under power. By linking inside and outside drive wheels, these systems tend to resist turning and can increase understeer. Conventional AWD and AWD systems similarly work to link the inboard and outboard wheels as well as the front and rear wheels, which can create resistance to turning. Most competing vehicles in the Passport segment utilize an open rear differential and individual rear-wheel braking to distribute rear-wheel torque from left to right. Using dynamic, hydraulically actuated left-to-right rear wheel torque vectoring to help turn the vehicle, Passport's AWD system delivers more responsive, neutral and predictable handling performance while providing outstanding all-weather handling and control.

Driver PreferencesPassport Touring and Elite trims come with two keyless remotes with unique identifiers. Each remote can be set with unique profiles to accommodate the individual preferences of two different drivers. The available preferences include driver seat and mirror positions, along with select HVAC functions. Other preferences include turning entry lights on or off, audio system pre-sets, air conditioning preferences, and navigation system settings. In the event both owners use the car at the same time, Passport will recognize the keyless remote that approaches the driver's door first.

The 2019 Honda Accord comes with three different drivetrain combinations. The base engine is a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 192 horsepower. It makes a little more horsepower and torque than the engine it replaces, which was not turbocharged had a larger displacement. Transmissions available with this engine include a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission that can alter gear ratios on the fly. Meanwhile, the optional V6 has also been replaced with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This one displaces 2.0L and makes 252 horsepower, slightly less than the V6 engine it's replacing. However, the new engine does make significantly more torque than that V6 while also producing better mileage, so overall, it's a tradeoff most buyers would be happy to make. Power is sent to the front wheels via either a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual with the 2.0L engine. The optional hybrid drivetrain uses a 2.0L non-turbocharged engine in combination with two electric motors to send power to the front wheels while sipping a minimum of gasoline. The Honda Accord comes in four basic trims, LX, Sport, EX and Touring. LX trim is available with the hybrid drivetrain or the 1.5L. It includes 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, dual-zone climate control, a rearview camera displayed on a 7-inch color LCD screen, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and a pushbutton starter.Sport models are available with either turbocharged engine and can be had with the 6-speed manual. Standard features on the Sport include 19-inch wheels, aluminum pedals and an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If buyers option the Sport with the bigger engine, they'll also get heated front seats, a power moonroof, a blindspot warning system, SiriusXM satellite radio and a remote starter. If buyers want all those options with the 1.5L or hybrid powertrain, they should opt for the EX. Top-of-the-line Touring models are offered only with the 2.0L engine and come even better outfitted with a power-adjustable passenger seat, a 10-speaker premium audio system, a navigation system, full LED headlights, adaptive dampers in the suspension, a heads-up display, wireless charging for phones, ventilated front seats and additional noise insulation.
New Direct-Injected Powertrain and Dual-Clutch TransmissionAll 2016 ILX models are powered by a 2.4-liter, 16-valve, direct-injected DOHC i-VTEC engine with peak output of 201 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 180 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm, up 51 horsepower and 40 lb.-ft. compared to the outgoing 2.0-liter engine. The new engine is mated to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) with torque converter and paddle-controlled Sequential Sport Shift. It's the most advanced transmission in its competitive set, delivering incredibly quick, crisp and intuitive gear changes, including rev-matching down shifts, to achieve outstanding response and sporting performance with top-class fuel efficiency, with an EPA rating of 25/36/291 mpg city/hwy/combined.
Direct-Injected 2.4-liter In-line 4-cylinder Engine The ILX's new Direct Injection (DI) 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine brings a host of intelligent technology to its segment. The engine's i-VTEC system combines VTC (Variable Timing Control), which continuously adjusts the intake camshaft phase, with Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC), which changes valve lift, timing and duration of the intake valves. Increased engine displacement, a new Direct Injection (DI) system, dual-stage intake manifold and other technologies combine to produce up to 40 lb.-ft. more torque with greater power available over the entire operating range, especially in the crucial mid-rpm area.
Dual-Stage Intake ManifoldTo maximize power output, the engine has a dual-stage intake manifold with two different intake runner lengths that are selected based on the operating conditions. An actuator and a set of four butterfly valves control the intake-runner switching process. At low engine speeds, the long runners are used to improve low-end torque. At higher engine speeds the system switches to the short intake runners for greater high-rpm power. The result is intake tuning that is optimized for the engine's entire operating range. Cylinder Head and ValvetrainThe lightweight cylinder head is made of pressure-cast aluminum alloy, with exhaust passages cast directly into the cylinder head. This eliminates the need for a traditional separate exhaust manifold and allows the close-coupled catalytic converter to be mounted directly to the cylinder head.
The ILX offers a remarkable level of standard equipment, including a Keyless Access System, an 8-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, a multi-view rear camera, a power moonroof, 5-inch (diagonal) color central display, dual-zone automatic climate control, 6-speaker audio system, Pandora interface, SMS text messaging function, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink cellular telephone and music interface and much more.
